Why do we have a new website?

We’ve redesigned the parish website to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.  You’ll notice we have a new tab system at the top of the page with clear drop-down menus to help you find the information you are seeking.

Additionally, we’ve increased the prominence of the Calendar and News sections on the website.  We want it to be easier for you to read the latest parish news and to see all of the upcoming events happening right here.

What is the Parish Community Network?

Some of the links on this website take you to webpages on our Parish Community Network (PCN).  The PCN is hosted by Catholic Online, a solidly orthodox organization and the most popular Catholic website in the world.  The PCN is designed to help enhance and foster the already-present real communication between parishioners and priests and amongst parishioners themselves.

Our Lady of Hope Parish has worked with Catholic Online Virginia Edition since the beginning of the PCN in late 2009; at that time it was called the Digital Parish Bulletin.  In fact, Our Lady of Hope Parish was the first parish in the world to have their own PCN website.  The name was changed in 2011 to highlight the community-building focus of the PCN.

One of the most popular features of the PCN is the Ask Your Pastor page where Fr. Saunders responds to questions from parishioners.

Each parish group has its own Community webpage, which the group leader can update and maintain on his own.  Group leaders can post group information and documents here, and send alert emails to all group members who have joined the community page.  And each community will soon have their own Calendar just like the Parish Calendar where they can showcase upcoming group events.

We encourage you to take a look around the new website and to join the PCN so that you can deepen your connection to the pastor and parishioners of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
