In the 1850s, St. John Neumann, Bishop of Philadelphia, introduced the 40 Hours Devotion to the United States.  This was a time of anti-Catholic persecution.  St. John wanted to foster devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, and thereby, enable the faithful to receive abundant graces to persevere in their quest for holiness and allegiance to the Catholic Church.

Father John D. Corbett, O.P., Assistant Professor of Moral Theology at the Dominican House of Studies, will be conducting our 40 Hours Devotion.

Fr. Corbett will preach at the Masses on February 21st and 22nd.  Then he will give a reflection each evening.  We will have exposition of the Blessed Sacrament continuously from Sunday after the 12:15 Mass through Tuesday evening.  Please sign up for a time of Adoration at the table in the narthex.

Sunday, 7:30 p.m.  Evening reflection

Monday, 7:30 p.m. Evening reflection and Confessions

Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. Concluding reflection with solemn Vespers and Benediction

This is a wonderful way to begin the Holy Season of Lent!
