Be a Hero. Thank a Hero.
Our Lady of Hope parish is participating in a service project for Soldiers’ Angels to benefit our troops. On Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, we will be gathering in the Parish Hall to decorate and fill Christmas stockings to spread some cheer to those who cannot be home for Christmas. There will be fun activities and treats for the entire family.
How Can You Be a Hero?
Be an Adult Volunteer
Sign up to assist families and ensure the event runs smoothly. If you would like to volunteer to arrange to monitor a station, please be sure to arrange for adult supervision for any of your children who will be attending at the same time. Childcare will not be provided.
Participate as a Family
Sign up as a family to decorate and stuff stockings, make Christmas cards, visit with a hero, etc. Each family is encouraged to sign up for a 1-hour slot between 2 and 5 pm. Keep in mind that parents need to supervise their own children; this is not a drop-off event.
Donate Funds or Make an In-Kind Donation
If you are unable to attend the event but still wish to support our parish service project, please consider making a monetary donation to help purchase stockings or pay shipping costs. Checks may be made out to Our Lady of Hope with “Be a Hero” in the memo line.
We are also collecting in-kind donations to put in the stockings. A list of suggested gifts can be found here.
All donations should be delivered to the RE office no later than November 7.
