COVID-19 Restrictions Update | Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church

COVID-19 Restrictions Update

May 26, 2021

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Hope:

Our Bishop, Michael F. Burbidge, has initiated the following changes to our protocols for worship, effective May 28, 2021:

Masks:  Fully vaccinated parishioners no longer need to wear a mask. Unvaccinated parishioners are encouraged to wear a face covering.

Social Distancing:  Occupancy limits have been lifted for all church functions, including Mass. Social distancing markers have been removed, and all pews are open.

Elements of the Mass:  The liturgical elements that were suspended or modified have been reintroduced. These elements include holy water in fonts, worship aids, full choirs and congregational singing, passing collection baskets, presentation of the gifts by the lay faithful, and the sign of peace. (Please limit physical exchanges of peace to those in your own household.)

Dispensation:  Bishop Burbidge’s dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation remains in place until further notice.

Live Stream:  We will continue to stream the 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday Masses, as well as the 8:30 a.m. daily Mass. However, we are in great need of volunteers on weekdays. Please call the office if you are interested in supporting this important ministry to our homebound parishioners. Training will be provided.

I am sure we are all grateful for a return to normalcy in the Church.

Sincerely,

Father Killian
