Parish Service Project

“Be a Hero, Thank a Hero”

Sunday, November 10 @ Parish Hall

1:00 to 3:00 pm

Come spread some holiday cheer – decorate and stuff Christmas stockings for our hero veterans.  Last year, about 75 families came to the fun event where they made cards, stuffed 170 stockings, and met with veterans.  We are collecting donations of small items to put inside the stockings. Monetary donations to honor a loved one currently serving or had previously served in the military are also accepted.  This will help cover additional supplies and shipping costs.  Please bring your donations to the narthex or to the Parish Office.

   SUGGESTED DONATIONS:

Decks of playing cards, Uno and other card games

Small game books (Sudoku, Crossword, etc.)

New Christmas/Fun socks

New winter gloves/socks

New winter knitted caps

Patriotic or Christmas bandanas

Individually packed snacks and candies (no chocolate)

You are invited to volunteer your time and talents on November 10th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Parish Hall to decorate and fill the stockings.  You can even attend a flag retirement ceremony outside, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.  This is a great service project for the entire family to get involved – even the little ones can make Christmas cards to add to the stockings as a surprise for the recipients.
