Virtual Retreat for the Seriously Ill
On Friday, Oct. 2, the Feast of the Guardian Angels, Catholic Charities will host its first ever all virtual retreat for the seriously ill and their caregivers. This conference has taken place in person for decades and Bishop Burbidge has attended for the last several years.
Fr. Cilinski, who has been the retreat spiritual director since its earliest days, will open the conference with a welcome and a pastoral talk. Diane Fields, who has struggled with serious illness, will talk about her journey and the source of her strength; A rosary will be prayed and Dr. Michael Horne, Clinical Director at Catholic Charities will speak about the emotional well-being for the ill and their caregivers. Finally, Bishop Burbidge will celebrate Mass to conclude the day of recollection.
During this time of the pandemic, this virtual day of recollection will allow more people than ever who are seriously ill or caring for those who are to participate in this healing ministry.
