Events in June at Our Lady of Hope

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we look forward to June, I wish to highlight several important events in our parish. Before the month of May ends, however, let me highlight once again the Knights of Columbus barbecue on Saturday evening, May 31st. The distinguished Catholic author and speaker George Weigel will join us to discuss living our Catholic faith in a secular culture. Mr. Weigel, who recently returned from Rome where he helped cover the election of Pope Leo XIV for the NBC network, has written numerous books and articles on Catholic topics including The Courage to Be Catholic.” All are invited to attend. The cost of the barbecue is $10 per person.
We congratulate our 8th Grade Students from our school who will graduate in June as well as high school seniors of our home school families.
Our very own Deacon John Meyerhofer will be ordained priest at St. Thomas More Cathedral on June 7th. The new Father Meyerhofer will celebrate his first Mass here on June 8th at 10:30 a.m. Parishioners can greet Father and receive his first blessings in the parish hall following the Mass.
Please plan on attending the special Mass of Corpus Christi at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 22nd. There will be a Eucharistic Procession and Benediction following the Mass outside, weather permitting.
Finally, the 25th anniversary of our parish is Saturday, June 28th. Providentially, this year the day is the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. All are invited to a special Mass at 10:00 a.m. Monsignor Saunders, our founding pastor, will be the homilist. The celebration will continue with a parish picnic beginning at noon. Please note that there will be no 8:30 a.m. Mass that day or confessions.
As we continue to celebrate our parish’s Silver Jubilee, please know of my gratitude for your continuing support of our parish in its many activities.
