Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our school principal, Mrs. Jeanne Canavan, has decided to resign as principal in order to pursue other opportunities in a new chapter of her life. I am very grateful for Mrs. Canavan’s leadership of our school these last three years in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic which included, perhaps most notably, our school’s reaccreditation by the Virginia Catholic Education Association. Mrs. Canavan saw the school through a construction project and implemented other measures to enhance student safety on campus. And also this year, she served as a substitute teacher in the classroom due to unanticipated teacher vacancies. Please join me in wishing Mrs. Canavan well during this period of transition.

With Mrs. Canavan’s resignation, I have already begun assembling a Principal Search Committee which will include members from various parish and school constituencies. I ask your prayers for me and the committee as we seek to identify a new principal who will build on Mrs. Canavan’s legacy at Our Lady of Hope School.
